3D Modeling and Animation provides us with a view of not only how things looked in our past but provides a vehicle to learn and understand of how and why things were historically developed the way they were. Models and animations help to preserve the beauty of historical architectures, the theories of what life was like in ancient civilizations and provides a tool to better understand how those civilizations developed, survived and eventually failed. Today, we use these techniques to illustrate and recreate those origins. Modeling and animation provides a means to encourage everyday individuals to embrace this history.
In the past, historical preservation consisted of trying to preserve documents such as books, drawings or actual artifacts that were discovered. In today's virtual world, not only can these things be preserved and the information be linked together, but, actual models can be created from historical information and the full impact of this knowledge rises to the forefront. Animations can be developed so we can experience life as it was during important historical periods. We are allowed to experience why and how things evolved the way they did. We get to understand the necessities that drove our inventors, scientists and engineers to create complex machinery, invent new equipment we use today or develop new drugs that allow us to live longer and more productive lives that would not be possible without them.
Through the use of these visual aides, we drive the interests of our young people and academia to strive to create a better and safer world for all of us. We no longer have to spend hours or months or years digging for information buried in volumes of books and documents. The information can be presented in a visual environment that far will exceed the effectiveness of time consuming research on matter that has previously been investigated by trained professionals.
3D Modeling and Animation for Historical Preservations allows both young and old to benefit from historical events and information. It allows our children to understand why things happened the way they did. It also allows our leaders and educators to access historical information both good and bad that will allow informed decisions providing us a better world to live in for generations to come.
